August 07, 2012 For more than 60 elderly or disabled people in the area, a hot meal delivered with a friendly smile is sometimes the only human contact they can count on everyday.
Meals on Wheels site coordinator Janet Stoica, who sends dozens of steaming hot plates of food out of the Oxford Senior Center to 64 people in Charlton and Oxford, said that to recipients, it's more than a meal.
"They're really grateful, not just for the meal, but for someone to say hello to," she said.
