SOUTHBRIDGE — Those who like walking should put some comfortable shoes on and hoof it to Jacob Edwards Library Friday morning, Aug. 17.

They'll be asked how to make downtown Southbridge a safer place to walk and how we as a community can use walking to, among other things, encourage business here.

"Southbridge is a lucky community because it has a good walking infrastructure," said Jonathan Church of the Central Mass. Regional Planning Commission, the event's organizer. "It was developed before the automobile, so it's really just a matter of making improvements so it's accessible to everybody."
