August 21, 2012 STURBRIDGE — After a great turnout at the first annual Kayak for a Cause event on Aug. 5, members of the Cedar Lake Association presented the money they raised to the Alzheimer's Support Network of South-Central Massachusetts last Friday, Aug. 17.
Thanks to a large amount of preparation and excellent community support, the Cedar Lake Association was able to raise $875 during the event. Residents of all ages took to the water in kayaks, canoes, and other vessels to raise money for the cause, and event organizer Jane Seitz was very pleased with the attendance.
"It's all about enhancing our lake community and giving back to the community and those in need," said Seitz, who serves as the vice president of the Cedar Lake Association. "As a professional caregiver, I totally appreciate the needs of the community and the services this organization provides. We hope this feeling is contagious."
