August 28, 2012 HOLLAND — Following the unexpected retirement of director Jane Benedetto, the Holland Senior Center staff is working hard to maintain a full schedule of classes and programs.
September will begin with chair massage sessions provided by Lin Hourihan, a licensed massage therapist and holistic health practitioner. On Wednesday, Sept. 5, Hourihan will offer 15-minute massage sessions from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a half hour break at noon. Each session will include a screening (patients will remain fully clothed), as well as pain relief for the head, neck, back, and shoulders. Sessions will cost $15; call or visit the senior center to sign up.
The following Wednesday, Sept. 12, will be a busy one at the senior center. A party for seniors with September birthdays will include cake and ice cream, and Nurse Jane will run a foot care session on that day from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; the cost is $15 and an appointment is required. Be sure to bring a towel as well.
